HMS Endymion 44 guns of 1779

A contemporary model of a 44-gun ship, formerly in the Science Museum Archive. Has beautiful example of painted frieze, and beautiful quarter gallery and stern carvings and windows. Figurehead is painted. Have taken pictures of many details.

Photographed out of case. White ribbon showing in some pics was part of the packing holding model on its stand during storage.

Model is now back with its original owner, the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew, near London.
