I realize I'm getting older, but I've tried to  search for adding your picture to profile and failed each time.  I guess I need "hand holding"  Thanks.  I have a iMac computer.  Cheers, Bill Palmer

If you need to....and I cant do this for everyone but just upload your photo here on a post and I will add it to your settings.

But give it another college try first.

Here...I'll show with pictures

At the top of the screen you are looking at now is your name with a down arrow ...click that arrow and then "My Profile"

1.jpg

Then you will be at your profile. This is what others see except for the "edit my profile" button on the upper right. Click that.

2.jpg

The first menu you see will be for "General Settings" and the first option is to add your photo. Click that button "change my photo"

3.jpg

From there you will find a place where you can add your photo from your hard drive or from a web link.

4.jpg

You may need to crop it and to do that you just hit the "adjust crop" so that your little square is the size and location you want.

Have fun!

Hello Ronald,

Ronald if you use windows you can do this easily wiht paint as there is a resize option :)

Have you tried what Adrieke suggested?

You can also download a free picture programmer to resize your pictures.

If that doesn't work and you're still having problems, just send me your picture and I will upload it for you.

Anja

PS- I have deleted your other topic asking the same question.

Hi from Jhb,

I'm unfortunately also one of the technically-challenged. I followed all the steps to upload a photo for my avatar, and at first it worked. However, when I logged in again this morning, it simply shows a red cross where the picture was.

I'd appreciate any help on what I've done wrong!

Regards,

Dognut.

It is probably not you, Dognut (interesting moniker there).  Occasionally, for reasons known only to quantum physicists, builder pictures evaporate.  Juts reload it and you should be fine.

I have tried unsuccessfully to upload a picture for my profile.  I click on my name and select a photo using the browse button and nothing happens.  I receive no error message.  Perhaps it is too big.  What is the size recommended?   Also what is the size of all other photos?  I can't seem to find the requirements.  I've seem the suggestion for using "FastStone" and I am all set to use it.

Thanks,

Ralph

Thanks Bugra.  I've successfully changed my photo and I have found that the max size to upload is 1200 x 1600.

The max image size that will get under the 50 kb limit seems to be different for different file types - I had to get my picture down to 400x400 before it was accepted

It took me three days to discover the only way I could get a picture file small enough to work was to save it as a "gif" file. I used the "Paint" program in Windows.   I can still do things with my hands.  It is the thinking that slows me down.

KibblesnBits,

When you open MSW on your phone it will start up with the mobile version.
Scroll down to the bottom and click on 'Full Version'.

Now you can sign in, click on your name and go to your profile.

Along the same line, how do I add a tiny picture to my 'signature'. I have it on my desktop but don't know how to add it as 'final'.
