Quick newbie question. I've been reading about planking so I've got a beginners idea of how to approach the task. Was not sure though about bonding the edge of each plank to the last one. When doing first planking (assuming there will also be a second veneer layer) do people generally apply glue only to the bulkheads at each spot where the plank will sit or also along the edge of the plank where it will lay beside the proceeding strake/plank?

How to glue planking?

I agree with Medic; Use wood glue and glue along the seams/edges as well as against the bulkheads. In more advanced models there generally will NOT be a second layer. Edge gluing is essential. In these instances, I also run a #2 pencil along the top edge of each plank to simulate caulking.
