HMS Victory Cross-Section by Cpt. Tom - DeAgostini - 1/72 my first Cross-Section

Recommended Posts

Hi Folks,

after 9 months I´m back at service and I open my Shipyard again........ :) I had some health problems but everything is good and I want to show you my new project.....!

The HMS Victory Cross-Section, it shows you the part from the mainmast.

I change some things as in the kit.

At first I use pearwood 2x5mm and inside 1,5x4mm stripes and second I build light inside the ship.

But look, here are the first pictures:

Hi Tom.

It's nice to hear that you have made a recovery and getting back into ship modeling :)

Nice work there. Coming along nicely.

I have just started my build of the same DeAgostini victory.

I also used Lime for the planking and Walnut.

A question .. What is the notch in the keel for ?

And a second question . Are you going to build as per instructions or bash the kit ?

Regards Antony.

Hi Tom,

Glad to see your build and you are back in the shipyard!

I will follow you closely to see what you make from it.

We have on MSW 2 a new tradition…..

A lot of builders are serving popcorn while they are building……..

If you want to join us with that, let me know and I will provide the popcorn machine.

When the build is finished, we clean up the mess…..

Mark or Wayne are the barkeepers.

I have a seat at the front row!

Good luck and enjoy the build!

The grain and the peas were in bags so I thought to build some bags. They are not included with the kit

Here is a little buildlog to create the bags.

At first you need an old T-Shirt and cut the Neck Part of....keep it, this is what you need for the bags.....!!!

Hello Tom,

Welcome back! It's good to see you back at work in the shipyard.

I'm glad you're feeling better.

You're doing great with this cross-section.

Nice touch putting in the lights.

Looking forward to your progress,

Anja

PS - 'The Darkside' means scratchbuilding. I see Sjors beat me to it.

Those we loved but lost are no longer where they were, but are always where we are.

Now the next deck......Orlopdeck......the planks on the deck beams were movable so I´m not nailing them and I use 1,5x4mm pearwood.

On both sides I have installed a higher plank. I don´t know the english word for that..in german...."Wassergang" maybe waterway?????
