congratz Rob.......your finished :)   you've put so much into her.......the detail is through the roof.  I've built the Cutty twice now....but I never in my wildest dreams,  could detail one out like you've done.  I agree....it's quite a feat to do what you did here.   if you can do the same with the Glory of the Seas,  it will be an enormous accomplishment!  this log is first choice for anyone to follow! :)

Thanks so very much Popeye.  I try to cram as much realistic details into my models.  Being I generally  work in 1/96 and now 1/128.  I can achieve quite a bit of detail.  In this case I feel the sails added the greatest detail.

I will be adding storm sails to the Glory of the Seas.

I appreciate your fine compliments.  You've stuck it out with me and I appreciate that too.

These deck houses are quite small compared to the scale you are working in...the houses are made from wood and some bits of vinyl, and plastic.  I'm glad you can glean from my efforts.

What a fabulous build. Thank you so much for sharing. Love the maple base in the case. Nice touch.

Thanks ,  rshoker.   I make it my habit to mount all my models on a unique mounting.  With Great Republic I wanted to cantilever the beautiful maple knot on another maple base....so the model looks like she is floating out over the case base.  All the maple is taken and milled from a large 100 year old maple I had cut down in my yard, that had died.

The shelf that my latest model...Glory of the seas...is mounted on, also made from that maple tree.  Her base is utilizing a large cleat mounted on a wood plaque that was used on a schooner that sailed  NW waters.

Thanks for commenting.
