dafi´s photo etch set for HMS Victory 1:100 (Heller) and other ships

49 posts in this topic

Dear Sirs and Madams,

dafi proudly presents the first sets of photo etch parts for HMS Victory 1:100 (Heller Kit).

During the years of research and model making in ... to Victory and beyond! ...

http://modelshipworld.com/index.php?/topic/76-hms-victory-by-dafi-to-victory-and-beyond/page-19

... it came out naturally to develop some parts for my own purpose and then to enlarge this set and offer it to help other model makers to enhance their builds too.

Out came a set of 6 plates straight for the model and 2 plates with gratings and eyebolts fitting for multiple scales.

Some parts like chains, gunport lid hinges or hammock cranes could be adapted for other ships 1:100 (1:96) and other parts like eyebolts for other scales. If interested, just contact me and we could find out

All parts are tried out and proved by now :-)

See the pictures of the assembled parts in http://modelshipworl...-beyond/page-19

Everything worked as planned, that was a big relief. In the moment I still work on the detailed assembly instructions, until they are finished I decided to give an early bird price just to start things moving. But do not worry, any questions towards assembly can and will be already answered!

So here are the contacts if interested:

That's amazing Dafi B)

Looking at your Victory log, I thought you where using commercially available photo etch.... didn't realize you where the commercially available PE provider!

On a special request I tried out the deadeye irons from Plate 3 on some wooden replacements.

These are deadeyes from Krick 5 mm and 3,5 mm:

Was easier than I thought :-)

Easy but careful snap over and a careful squeeze on the bottom plus some CA for security.

Have a nice weekend,

Daniel

Great work as always Daniel.

I was wondering if any of the hammock cranes would work for the 1/96 Revell Constitution?  Or failing that would you consider doing some to suit?  There would seem to be many who are building her and it is one part of the kit sadly lacking in scale fidelity.

Thanks for any help you can offer and keep up your wonderful posts.  :D

Wow, very high quality! Do you offer, or plan to offer anything in 1/75?

Great looking paint job on your ships in that link also.

Dafi,

Your PE work is extraordinary. Through differential etching you've managed to make 3D parts, like the port rigols.

Well done!

Thank you all! Much appreciated.

Even if it is not brass and etch, I also provide some goodies from the resin front :-)

Here are the different anchors, the three in the front are the sizes needed for the set for the Victory 1:100 and the one on the right is for the HMC Alert in the same scale (not forgotten this little gem :-)

Just the stock irons and rings have to be added.

And one of my favourite parts, the knightheads beside the bowsprit:

With a tad of paint it could look like this :-)

Thank you for your kind words.

Being stuck in the austrian mountains far off my shipyard, I updated the assembly instructions and already added the latest goodies to the list.

First glimpse of the side entry port, still refining the form a bit, soon available :-)

Wow Daniel, that is a great work! Amazing! I hope you are successful with this offer since I think things like this should have success!

Do you thought about doing such stuff for the USS Constitution?  ;)

I am always thinking about how to get rid of the edge of the etched parts. Many of your parts are in real life round such as the hooks and the ringbolds. Is there any way to etch away the edges? Ever thought about this? I mean this would of course not lead to real round diameters - but at least it would break the edges a bit?

Would some of your beautiful parts fit for the 1/96 Revell Constitution? What do you think?
