I agree!  Anytime you can do the actual work rather than simulating, always looks better in the finished product!

Cheers,

Tim

Just a little update.  I trimmed the hull planks.  Next I'll use some wood filler and sand them nice and smooth before planking the second layer.  Unfortunately I'm going out of town for the holiday so I won't be getting any building done this weekend.

I've just bought this kit, and it is also my first build.   Appreciate any pictures and descriptions you (MRWESQ) or Pete can give!

Welcome Jake,
Here is a picture of my progress on the Virginia so far, but I swear I'm going to finish this little lifeboat first.
Matthew - I promise I'll start my own build log and stop jumping in on yours.

The deck looks great. I was advised to use Varathane water based Diamond Wood Finish interior Satin. I used this on the deck for the Halifax and it dries fast, cleans up with water and doesn't change the color of the wood.

Current Build : HMS Halifax - Constructo Kit - Scale 1:35

The Halifax was purchased in 1768 by The Royal Navy at transformed at Portsmouth into a colonial schooner.
