Reason for no build log is that my computer's hard drive failed. It's still in the repair shop but hope to get it back very soon. Apparently the hard drive really failed very badly and the techie had a problem retrieving it. That's what's taking the time. He has 25 years experience with Macks and never seen a HD this bad. I do have an external drive with all that data but only up to husicane Irene when it went bad. All the first pics of the Java build are on the last few days of the failed HD. As soon as I get my computer back I'll start a build log. Right now I am borrowing Gwen's computer to keep up with all the folks on MSW. I am very pleased with the model, all the parts are super good. I didn't like the idea of later backtracking with the start phase of the log, kinda makes it a hotchpotch, if you know what I mean. As a matter of fact the parts I am working on now also have accompanying pics from the real ship, which are also on my failed HD and will also be missing. This is important to me and helpful to whomever is following to see how close this kit is to the real ship. Still no word from the fixit guy. Maybe tomorrow? Searching dor hrms java dosnt give too many hints, while searching for Java gives way too many I searched for kruiser java, which gives a nice bunch of pics. I also found by asking for kruiser java I hit the jackpot. There are a few other sites like the Australian Maritime Museum with a few pics. One of them I will order in a higher pixl count or a glossy photo. That's the one where the Java was taking on fuel and ammo in Tanjung Priok, Batavia. Reason being is that my father was on the ship at that moment. Ah, call it nostalgia. The photo from the Aussie museum showing the Java being bombed, I remember my father talking about that. Funny that when seeing certain photos my memory springs into gear and I can see myself sitting there and listening to my father telling us about his experiences.
