kpnuts Posted May 19, 2015 Share #1 Posted May 19, 2015 Hi all well back off hols and made a tentative start on this one The kit comes with stubby half cannons for the lower decks( I may live to regret this but Ive decided to open up the gun ports and make some whole guns to put behind them, since they are below decks and you wont see much of them they wont need to be too detailed or accurate, and I am only doing one side as they would never do a broadside on both sides, I mean what admiral in his right mind would choose to take the risk of a broadside on both sides at the same time) also it means I've only got to make 30 guns and carriages. kpnuts Posted August 14, 2015 Author Share #22 Posted August 14, 2015 Hi all here is tonights update Don hope this helps First paint your base ( the deeper the water the darker and less other colours there would be) in this example its costal waters so not very deep ( you could add greens and browns for really shallow water showing the shallowness)So here's your baseplace ship wherever you want it (if the ship is to be removed wrap the hull in cling film to stop the sealant sticking to it.Get some clear bathroom sealantand apply to baseusing a knife or spoon spread it roughly aboutnow press down with the knife or spoon and rapidly move in the direction of the wave moving upwards as you go and you will get a little peak, just like a wave, continue till you have enough, it should end up looking like thislet it go off, if you need higher waves you can add more when its gone off, as I did on the bow wavesthen just highlight with white paintyou can then use cotton wool for the foam on the very tops of the waves. obviously you would take more care than I did on this example, but you get the idea. it really is easy I did this example in ten mins.hope this is of use. clearway 1 Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
