Hi Derek,

Great to see you've got your log back up and running, and with so many great pictures already.  Got my own log started again, no pics yet but will add soon.  First planking complete, gun ports lined, middle gun deck planked.  Starting on the quarter galleries today and having the devil of a time getting everything aligned, so logs and pics like yours are a huge help.

Best of luck

Patrick

The stern looks good, I particularly like the painting on the taff rail decoration.

Your stern is very impressive. I like the fact that you assembled the stern entirely separate and then glued it to the hull. I do not know if I would have thought to do it that way.

Hello again young man

Well your stern looks really smart. And your paintwork on both the taffrail and name plate is excellent. My painting was only just passable from about three feet. You have just about caught me up with your build. I am doing the rudder. Tell you what it's a long scroll to the bottom this page. Is there any easier way??? Good stuff derek, keep it up. DAVID

What paints and brushes are you using?  The results look great.  I know that the majority of the result is the painter, but I just wondering.

Great job!

Hi Derek

Thanks for the tip on the stern facia on my log.  Yours is looking great.  On the subject of brushes, I use similar ones to you.  I find they don 't last very long before they get out of shape but neither do the expensive ones so there's no point in wasting money on them.

Cheers

Yon

Hi Derek,

Nice work on your stern there and good job on painting the taffrail decorations.  Hope you get you eye problem sorted out soon so you can get back to work on the ship.  Thanks for your comments on my log...and for reminding me that there are only 2600 copper tiles to put on!!

That looks great Derek,

And then the paint job….I think before I give you any comment, I'll just wait for the finished job.

Hi just a photo of cannons this the first time i have used a primer and i must say it makes a world of difference to the top coat, for once i have a smooth finish with no trace of the copper  showing through .I have now got to discover how those dead eye strops sit on the channels, they are not the usuall run of the mill strops.
