Jig for Sweep Ports

The jig presented below is used for the Brig Niagara, but the principle can be used for the other models having sweep ports for oars.

1. Jig with in the centre a part with a square section (3/16"x 3/16") corresponding to the inner measures of the sweep port. A groove R surrounds this part to avoid the sweep port gluing on the jig.
2. Planks of the outer planking.
3. Parts to form the sweep port.

1. The sweep port is glued on the planks of the outer planking.
2. The sides of the sweep port are filed to have the same profile as timberheads.

Friendly,
Bosco PDT_Aliboronz_15
