Hi crew,

I recently heard from Alexei Baranov about his method of using fine graphite powder to caulk a deck, and today he sent me these photos which are like a mini tutorial. Thanks Alexei Respect!

Really nice.
Can this be used on all ships, like Triton cross section?

And why he uses contact glue, instead of white glue?

A lot of photos indeed, but each is important!

The photo reports of Alexei are every time phenomenal and so extreme self-explanatory. Each pic says more than hundret words!

I hope for the future to see much more of these pictures, we get so much information out of his small tutorials. Especially here with the comparison of the different ways, so it is much better and easier to compare....

Great documentation of a great modeller Shocked
Thanks to Alexei and also to Jim to share this knowledge with us.

Small remark: the glue is named PATTEX in germany and is a compact multipurpose glue

SUPERB!

Thanks Jim and Alexei for all the effort of capturing and posting the pictures. You're right. The pictures and their short captions are just the right amount of information. Well done!

This kind of tutorial is too good to let slip away as just another thread. Can you have it linked over there in the tutorials section?

I have corrected the problem. They were inserted into this post when the site was at the old host and instead of the domain name the url pointed to an IP which of course had been changed.

Jim:
I am still having trouble viewing the pics. I recall seeing this thread when the pics were nice and large. Now, they are very small. I have also noticed this problem with several other MSW threads today. What happened to the photos? How does one enlarge them?

Russ

Hi Russ,

Images are being auto-resized to speed up the screen load times, however.. once the screen is loaded, all you need to do is double click a photo and it will enlarge, in a separate window.

Hope this helps

Steve
