Taken  me more than 40 years to compleete this model, scale 1:48 or if you like 1/4"-1 foot.

"Laid the keel" back in 1979.

The model is a "plank on frame" build with copper sheeted bottom.

My last model as I am almost 80 now and have other priorities.

Cheers Kai

Very nice job on a ship that I assume was a scratch build as kits with plank on frame construction were extremely rare back then.  You didn't have much in the way of help from the internet back then either.

You are quite right, but we cant miss something we never had. However, I have never been in to kits anyhow. That is more assembling than building in my eyes. Dont get me wrong, I have respect for kitbuilders also as there is lots of work building period ships of the line i.e. rigging or hullplanking.

Cheers, Kai

Thanks!

Hohlenberg-style narrow sterns are always a bit tricky (I had very hard time trying to figure out the stern on Christian VII) so it's interesting to see other examples.

My granddaughter Freya is two years old today, and your beautiful model is the second thing I came across while browsing through the gallery this morning!
