This was my first kit from Vanguard Models - 18 months of great enjoyment. Many kits require extensive 'bashing' to make up for historical inaccuracy, poor quality material and out of scale components. This is not the case with this model. Chris Watton has designed well-researched kit that build up into an excellent model straight from the box. For example, the pearwood blocks supplied with the kit compare favourably with most after-market offerings. My additions, such as the boxwood deck, were simply intended to enhance an already excellent model. I'm now building the Duchess of Kingston from Vanguard and have HMS Sphinx on order.

Excellent build and I really like how you did the ram in the front. Very well done.

Thanks! I agree. I originally was interested in model ship building because I was interested in galleons and then 18th C warships, but I have found that I really like small craft. It's especially fun thinking that this is something you might realistically be able to sail.

Very nice! It's great to see models of small craft being built.

first time seeing a carronade model, sure you've made all items from scrap because i think there are no kits from manufacturers. Simply awesome!
