USS Zellars DD-777

Completed photos of the USS Zellars DD-777 -circa 1960 FRAM II. I made this model for my brother who served on board during the Cuban crisis. It is scratch built and based on plans of the USS Laffey DD-724 and personal photos that my brother took during his time on board. This is my first attempt at building from scratch. The model is 1/16 scale and measures 24" long and is made from bass wood.

This model is outstanding.  My dad served on the Zellars.  Any interest in recreating this model for me?

My dad, Dante Ventriere, served aboard the Zellars during the Cuban Missile crisis in '63.  Dad passed away yesterday after a long illness.  He loved the Navy and always had a portrait of the Zellars on the wall in his home office.  If this model is made for sale, please let me know as I am building a memorial wall for my dad at my home.

Thanks,

Tony Ventriere
