  14. 18th Century Merchant Longboat circa 1790 as used in the PNW fur trade Updated

Modified Model Shipways kit at 1:48 scale. Longboat depicted as used during the Pacific Northwest fur trade circa 1790 on the small ships out of Boston. Armed with a swivel cannon forward, increased shear.  Re-rigged outhaul through the block located on the stem per the NMM model. Horse located over the tiller and a typical merchant paint scheme with lamp black and varnish. Connections used were hooks for standing and running rigging for quick and easy setup.

  17. HMS Swan (1775) Updated

These photos show my first attempt at a diorama and I featured a highly-modified HMS Pegasus kit (Amati/Victory Models) for the subject: the first ship of the Swan Class, appropriately, HMS Swan! After completion, I had fun staging and taking the photos. The final display is large (40" X 20" X 3")  as I had to show a reasonable amount of water around the 1/64- scale ship.
