This is my first build completed Yee ha .
It was hand painted using standard wood primer and then Humbrol Enamels. I've learnt a lot, I've made mistakes but it's been a thoroughly pleasurable journey. No time to waste as my HMS Fly arrived today, bring it on. Feedback welcomed

Just finished my first build. Thanks to the Model Ship World community and esp. Ferret Kutlu who has been working on the Corel model Berlin also. His postings were invaluable as I was learning as I went and of course the instructions with the kit leave a great deal to be interpreted. That was the fun and challenging part though. Thanks to my neighbor for his input. He built a real wooden ship in Australia and confirmed some of the model construction is the same as would be on a real ship.

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model shipcraft.

We publish books on ship modeling techniques as well as our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, whose pages are full of articles by master ship modelers who show you how they build those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you what details to build.
