A 3/4 finished kit because I chose not to go beyond to the first level of masts.  This ship should be thought of as in the process of being rigged.  Its obviously not yet ready for sea.  The rigging I did do is of my own creation; done solely to allow for some lines to be run and to give it a nautical feel.  Reading rigging plans proved too tedius for me and of course without the upper masts and yards there was no way to rig it properly.  The fun and beauty of the build (I believe) is in the detail work both on and below deck.  Hope you enjoy.

This is a dusty old find in an old craft room. Kit was complete and a decent beginner project. It is a lovely boat, and classy. Named it the "Wodehouse" in a fit of whimsy and of course from my love of his literature. Seemed fitting a 1937 leisure vessel like the Sakkonet given such a name.  Paint job is a little rough (a little?) but I am over all pleased with the job I did.

This 1778 USF Confederacy was started by Augie Bruno, then completed by Moonbug after Augie's Passing.  It's a 1:64 Model Shipways version of the kit with some slight modifications.

I built this on in the late nineties. This very basic kit was almost completely modified. As documentation, I had quite a few pictures of the original ship, including calender posters, and also a precious book written by the former owner Eric Tabarly. I don't remember the scale, but I remember the Artesania Latina kit is fairly larger. Length of model is, I think some 60cm.

This is the Mantua Kit of an 18th Century French Naval Gun.
I used very little of the actual kit, except for the barrel and some of the metal fittings. I used various woods from my wood collection. For example, the deck was some strip wood, sold as doll house hardwood flooring. I have my own little rope machine, with which I made all the rope. The blocks came from Jersey Ben .. ( Back when... )
