    Welcome! You might try this link as well as exploring the many build logs here if you are interested in a particular ship/boat. For whatever you choose you can begin a build log of your own to show off your work, ask questions, and enjoy this wonderful community

    very nice first build there. The mayflower is a good choice and I am sure there are many who will help with any issues you come across.

    I can scroll around and zoom in and out just fine but when I hover over a pin and/or click on it I cannot find out who that is. This is on a iMac running Safari 14.0. Interesting on both the iPad and iPhone it works just fine.

    Welcome Jim! I grew up in Baltimore and always loved sailing out in the bay. Don't do too much sailing out here in Ohio but do get back to that area as still have family there.

    As others have said opening a build log is a great way to show your work, get help, and work your way through any issues you may encounter. The Lady Nelson makes a great model.

    I have seen members here talk about this as a good solution. I believe the brand was Fiebing dye and I think it was originally a leather/shoe dye. It might have been @dvm27 who used this (but I could be wrong🧐)

    I just want to give a shout out to this outstanding podcast from the US Naval Academy Museum. From their website: "A naval history podcast from Preble Hall - the United States Naval Academy Museum in Annapolis, Maryland. Preble Hall will interview historians, practitioners, military personnel, and other experts on a variety of naval history topics from ancient history to more current events." The most recent episode is an interview with the author of Barons of the Sea: The Race to Build the World's Fastest Clipper Ship. It was really interesting. I do not listen to every single episode but I do listen to many. There is a huge array of topics covering for example: episode 13 Navy Boat Models: Craftsmanship, Techniques & Technologies (with the curator of ship models at the museum) episode 23 The Colonial Wars episode 40-41 The US Navy & the Development of High Steam Engines episode 53 The American Revolution and Naval Irregular Warfare episode 65 Navy Tattoos and the National Museum of the American Sailor You can subscribe in your favorite podcast player (I use the built in iPhone podcast player) or listen right from the web page for each individual episode. Each episode is roughly 30-60 minutes in length and they have broken up longer episodes into parts occasionally. I highly recommend this audio series

    Welcome aboard Tom! It is nice to se another Ohioan here As Lee said we do have a club that meets monthly on the 3rd Sat in the am. During Covid times we are using zoom and it has been working out very nicely. We even have some members form NE (sorta of) Ohio. Member here @6ohiocav is in Zoar. I am from Dayton area so we do get members from all around the state. If you would like more info our website is Shipwrights of Central Ohio. You can also pm me as well. Niagara is very nice and @6ohiocav has a nice build log here. Here is a nice explanation of how to start a build log. Explore around ask questions and have a great day

    Wow! For a novice and beginner that Victory is a huge project and loooks great! If you start a build log in the appropriate section we can all follow along with the rest of the build.
