I had been visiting my mother in Ellsworth and was headed to Massachusetts to visit the in-laws and happened past this place. Didn't stop in as I'm the only one interested in model boats (5 of us were in the car), but I had my wife snap the pic as we drove by.

I really like brushing the glue on after it's put together. None of the panic and stress of trying to quickly fit everything with glue on it. Just casually fit it together and brush on glue. Much more relaxing.

My wallet is already quivering with anticipation. I can hardly wait for the Sphinx to come out, it's going to be one hell of a beautiful kit.

If you are going to brush on glue now I suggest not putting glue in the places where parts 21, 22, 23 and 24 go. It makes it more difficult to fit them if there is glue in the way.

Got my email today and it does say it will be delivered today. I'm guessing it will actually be here on Thursday, which is pretty fast shipping.

Some folks here have mentioned receiving an email from UPS for their DoK delivery. I haven't yet and I'm trying to figure out if I should be more patient or start panicking. 😬

I'd guess I'll get back at it in December. Maybe sooner as I have the Duchess of Kingston ordered and that might get the building juices flowing when it shows up. But I have a house that is almost rebuilt (after burning) that I'm going to have to move to pretty soon, sometime later this month. I'm guessing after I move and get the house set up I'll be inclined to resume the build.

I've got the lower shrouds on now, but some life stuff is getting in the way and reducing my building time dramatically. I'll keep pecking away at it.

I might match his speed, but he's way ahead when craftsmanship is included as well. I have a bunch of different hobbies that I switch between. Any skills that I build up are lost again when I put aside a hobby for a while. I'm sure I'll still be building boats when Chris releases the Duchess of Kingston. I'll try to raise my quality of build a little on that one.
