  1. I love your shading and texturing. It really brings the old girl to life David B
  2. Popeye, Look up MSC Industrial. They will have the sizes you want. I used to buy in packages of 10 ea because of shaky hands and if dropped they disappear into the unknown. http://www.mscdirect.com/product/details/01186204 David B
  3. Bravo. I wish I could have been there to see it in it's glory. Have you decided on the case yet? David B
  4. One of the reason I like a solid hull is it can help me find the best run for the strakes. As for the Garboard, I always dreaded fitting the darn thing. If you are painting the hull what type of wood are you going to use? David B
  5. Congrats on a job well done. Too bad I cannot be at the meeting to cheer you on. fom what I have seen and been told you have a very bright future ahead of you in modeling. Put it in a case and enter it into the contest at Manitowoc. I think you will impress the judges and your fellow modelers. What do you have planned for your next project? David B
  6. How about putting in a temporary brace and then use that to help keep the edge glued planks straight and even? David B
  7. That is where I went wrong. Next time I will dig out my small Butane torch and try it again. David B
  8. I was finally able to go through your log Mike. Your model is amazing. The work is clean and neat and precise. If you can get your hands on some apple use Fiebings and you will love the result David B
  9. Ed, I have tried brazing copper that thin for small projects and the part would melt when I used the torch. What is your secret to doing this. I have used tape and brass tubing shaped to fit for my banding. David B
  10. Very realistic Maury. How did you make it and what kind of wood? David B
  11. Are you working to scale Chuck or full size? The detail is great. You must have a workforce of Lilliputians on your payroll. David B
  12. For temporary gluing I have used a drop of contact cemment. A little acetone works great in weakekning the bond as well. David B
