  1. Thank you for your comment. I did order the 1:72 sails online and would use full sails streched on my ship. However, I may not have time to open a full log. After I finished my kit, I will definitly upload many photos of details.
  2. Hi, all Recently, I bought a 1:72 HMS Victory from Caldercraft and realised it does not include sails. I know that modelers do not want any sail as it can interfere the view on riggings. However, if I really want to include hand-made sails in my ship, will it largely diminish the rigging details? Did anyone try to include sails on Victory before? Or I just stupid to have sails. Or what kind of condition of sails is the best? rolled-up or stretched. Welcome any comment. Thanks, guys.
  3. Hi, all I bought a Caldercraft HMS Victory model kit last month. And after one-month shipping (largely delayed by Chinese custom), I will finally get my model kit at next Tuesday. However, I feel like I have trouble understanding the English version of the manual. And I want a Chinese version or some materials of constructing the ship with more photos rather than words, which can help me build the model without the need to look at the manual. Please help me with this. Thanks a lot! BTW: the Caldercraft Victory has no sails right? Where can I get the sails? Best Regards guys!
  4. Hi Rick, Many thanks for your reply! I did read some logs, especially the Caldercraft one since it has the most makers around. Personally, I think it is the most detailed one. However, I do not like the copper plate because I prefer the original color and wood. I think I will follow your ideas and read more different logs on various kits. Thanks! Regards kevin
  5. As I have been told that the Caldercraft HMS Victory kit is the best kit on the market regardless the variables, is this still the truth? I know it has been a really old topic or question. I just want to know the simple answer before buying it. I think I will build one Victory in my whole life since it costs enormous hours work. Therefore, I want the best.
  6. Thanks, Tom, this Cornwall Models is better than the shop I find. Many thanks! Extremely helpful! Kevin
  7. Hi all friends, Currently, I want to buy the Caldercraft HMS Victory 1:72 model kit. Since I live in China, and there is no retailer here, I tend to buy this kit from the online store (http://www.shipwrightshop.com). However, I do not know whether this is the right official website or the cheapest online website since they do not reply my email in several days. Or even the right place to go. In this store, the price combined with shipping is 789 Europen dollars. So is there any friend who has the experience in buying kits online could give me some useful advice? many thanks Kevin
