  1. HMS Legion, Flyhawk, 1:700

This is my first go at a plastic kit. I recommend this kit by Flyhawk. It comes with a couple of sheets of PE. This is basically built straight out of the box apart from a few items which I lost on the floor. I used some Uschi rigging thread (0.03mm). I really enjoyed trying something different from my usual wooden builds. Also working at 1:700 with some tiny brass pieces will help my approach to detail going back to wooden kits at much bigger scales.

  2. Scottish Maid 1840 - 1:50 - Artesania Latina (heavily modified)

This is a heavily modified version of AL's Scottish Maid. Built in 1840 in Aberdeen  - she was the first ship to use the "Aberdeen" bow, which was later adapted and used on the early British Clippers.
Rigging, masts, deck layout, ships boat, steering, wheel, bowsprit are all adapted to match contemporary info about the Scottish Maid, instead of following the AL plans.
I have shown the model half-rigged to give it a sense of being a dynamic moving thing, but without obscuring much the deck and rigging.
