  1. Are any of you builders of small ships aware of a technique for bending woods like mahogany, teak, maple etc utilising liquid ammonia? It apparently plasticises the fibres of the wood so it can be easily bent to shape where it will return to its wood state staying bent. i would be interested to hear if anyone is familiar with this technique. cheers David
  2. Love your deck planking easy on the eye. The Swift was my second build and I found the AL instructions woeful, hate their hinges and don't like the way the suggest you use wire for the blocking. Bought a very small wood lathe for shaping the masts - works well. This was all practice for a kit my wife got me for my birthday, the AL HMS Endeavour. Now I know what terrible instructions are!
