    Lighting Ship Models "how to" CD is written by accomplished modeler Dave Kopielski. Dave walks you through the ins and outs of wiring and using LEDS and fiber optics to bring life to your models. The CD is 9 pages in length with MANY hi-rez full color photos of in progress steps while Dave builds the 1/350 scale Trumpeter Nimitz and converts her to the Carl Vinson.     It's been a while since we introduced a new how to ship modeling CD so it's been long enough. With all the emphasis on lighting at the model shows and on line, I am proud to present "Lighting Model Ships" by Dave Kopielski. Dave recently finished an astonishing 1/350 scale model of the USS Carl Vinson adorned with tons of LEDs in various colors and sizes and he wrote Flagship Models a CD to show everyone just how he did it.     Flagship Models here. For those who do not know, Oklahoma is located almost dead center in the US. I chose to be a sponsor after being contacted by Kurt. This site is a wealth of information for the ship enthusiast. While I am a American Civil War guy, I have a real interest in rigged sailing vessels. I look forward to learning new information and modeling techniques to improve my skills as well.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal.
