  1. Ekis, All kidding aside. This is a most enjoyable project to follow. I hope we are quite far from completion yet. I may try something similar myself at some point. Do you think you would do something similar again, or is this a one time project? As I mentioned once before I hope there is a visual “walking tour” when this is done with a GoPro or something. That would be the ultimate! Kurt
  2. Ekis, As usual it turned great. Special function ..... let me guess...hmmm. So close to the church? Oh my. Kurt
  3. Ekis, It’s coming really well. I particularly like the wood work on the doors. Kurt
  4. Olha, I remember back when I was following your build, I thought how insane is cutting all those bulkhead notches!! I never realized they were laser cut. Maybe you are a mere mortal and one of us! LOL. I never understood the picture you show were you are cutting through your planking with the rotary tool. Now I do. Kurt
  5. Olha, I just was looking at your website which is very well done and it will be interesting going through all it’s sections. Regards, Kurt
  6. Hi. I really like Le Cerf and particularly the clinker hull. Your craftswomanship is of an exceptionally high standard. This will definitely be a build I will follow. I remember seeing your build at the beginning several years ago on an eastern European modeling site. It was a little difficult to follow using a translator app back then and frustrating. Here will be a lot easier and more enjoyable by far. Welcome to your new country and wecome to MSW. You will make a lot of new friends here. Kurt
  7. Ekis, Very nice. Things keep getting better and better. They were great to start with, too. It’s so easy to forget the size of everything. Just amazing. Kurt
  8. Hi John, Really nice work. It’s wonderful to see what quality a model can be made with the older less sophisticated kits. Photoetch and laser cut are nice, but a little time and craftsmenship can produce equally and often better results. I think the the satisfaction would be much greater in the building. She’s gonna be a beaut! My daughter and her family until recently lived in your neck of the woods. They were in Cumberland, Me. Until her husband had to relocate for his job. Nice country and great people up there. Kurt
  9. Rich, Beautiful, nice clean work. You’re really doing the Kate Cory justice! Do have a case for her yet? Kurt
  10. Ekis, Now that is cool! I like the winch and counterweight set up. I think the picture just before the last one should have a group of tourists ( probably some “beefeaters” ) having a group photo being taken in front of it. It looks remarkably real. Excuse me, could you please direct me to the ( as he glances at his translations booklet) Vespasienne ? It’s coming along nicely. Kurt
  11. Hi, Welcome to MSW. I love tramp steamers. The model looks like it was very well built originally and seems to be still in relatively good shape from the pictures. You should really have an enjoyable journey bringing it back to its glory days. I know I would. Do you plan to try and keep her with vintage electronics or up to date equipment? Have you tried any of the reverse image search’s that can be done with your computer? It may just bring you closer to what you’re trying to find out. Regardless, you’ll enjoy your time here. I does get addictive though. I hope there’s no cure. Kurt
  12. Ekis, That is a handsome structure. It looks like it will blend in with the the rest of the village perfectly. Each structure gets better than the last, but I guess it should. In the evolution of a village like yours, would the entire perimeter wall be built simultaneously, or in sections tower, gate, etc? And do you think the church building would have been the first thing constructed and the rest followed? Actually I guess what I’m really asking was a fortified village built with that purpose in mind in planned steps from the onset, or just sort of just developed over time? My guess would be both. Kurt
  13. It’s really village idiot here too. I just didn’t know how that would translate. Does that mean I qualify? Kurt
  14. They’ll be a town fool won’t there? What self respecting village would be without one. I have some spare time if need be. . . I meant to help locate one. Kurt
  15. Ekis, I really like the way your design for the door is progressing! It might just be my favorite part of the village. Kurt
  16. Ekis, Thanks for the explanation. If you’re using a translator, it works very well. Everything sounds very natural and flows well. It’s not the least bit awkward. I only know a few phrases in a couple of languages, and of course they would definitly get me trouble using them. Kurt
  17. Ekis, Okay. I’m glad. In your mind what is the rank of the local lord who’s town you’re creating and did you name the village as yet? Kurt
  18. Kinda tight at the bottom of the staircase. Can the stable be moved to the left a little bit? Maybe it’s just the angle of the pictures. I love all your woodwork. Kurt
  19. Beautiful work. I would like to find about how they’re are going about the actual restoration work of the cathedral after the fire. If you happen to know any specific resources, please let us know. I would think the restoration would also turn up previously forgotten information about Norte-Dame. Have you been there in person? It’s interesting you seem to be working from the top down. I just have to say corny as it may sound, Follow Your Dream. It’s definitely a beautiful one. I wish you a bon voyage. PLEASE send us many post cards along the way. It is a journey I would really like to follow. Kurt
  20. I love seeing things like this. It’s superb! How much time have you spent to get to the point you’re currently at? Kurt
  21. On a privateer like Fair American the window in the quarter badge, would it more likely be real or false? Does anyone know the common practice of the time which was 1780? Kurt
  22. Ekis, I love the woodwork on the watchtower. Looking at the whole village though, is there a stable anywhere, or a well? Kurt
