Actually since I have already built 2 Hms Victory on commission (no from kits), the Caldecraft kit is not correct!! The bow section of the ship is wrong! Fortunately there are tons of pictures of the real ship to look at! So who ever wants to built this great ship there is a lot of info on the subject….oh another thing, if you want to paint the model have a look at the colours that the curators of the museum have discovered……

I am going to build from scratch the Bluenose II. In regards to the anchors chain the question is: how many links there are in a foot of chain? I cannot find this answer anyware. Does anybody out there knows the answer?

I will try to upload some pictures so as to make this simple process a bit more clear. Hello again, for you folks that are still not quite sure of how to apply this simple trick for cutting repetively thin wood pieces of the same 'gauge' I hope that the pictures that I have uploaded will be self explanatory. Hello everyone, if I can I will like to share a very simple trick that I learned many years ago while working as an architectural model maker. Here it is: to be able to cut on a table saw very thin pieces of wood you will need to set up the left side of the table. The first thing to do is making sure that the piece of wood that is going to be cut is sawed square and parallel to the blade/rip fence. At this point mark your thikness to be cut on the wodd block (top left side obviously), then try a small cut with the saw, without moving the rip fence, check the thickness. If satified, and still without moving your rip fence (very important) get a steel straight edge and double tape one side of it. Place the straight edge against the left side of you wood block that is still 'resting against the rip fence' tape down on the table and voila'. Now you will have a constant 'left' fence/indicator for many cut that you desire for that thickness. Hope this will be helpfull New to this site Massimo
