    I built the Bluenose ll from Artsania and enjoyed the build. For the most part the quality is good. It does not have precut sails and to this point I haven;t built any kits that have. Best of luck!! Jack

    Good luck with the Connie. I built it several years ago(my second build) and I am sure you won't run into difficult problems that you won't be able to handle.     I have been modeling for about 20 years. I have not found a good way to get paint to adhere to etched brass. Does any one have a suggestion. Thanks Jack

    I ripped up the decking and relaid it. I used pre stain conditioner and it helped some. I think the next time I will use the mix. thanks Jack

    I just finished planking the Syren and stained the appropriate area with Golden Oak, which came out very blotchy. I suspect that getting glue on the wood caused this. I do not want to replank it and I am wondering if anyone has any suggestions? Dr Mac

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
