Thank you Bob,

I`m also happy with the look of the funnels, they are a bit like the funnels of my "Heinrich Kayser" merchant steamer...

G'day Nils

BRAVO. I haveta say again what you have done is bloody brilliant!

There are no other words that can describe this wonderful model.

I hope that your admiral will have lots of cups of coffee and tea for all the foot traffic that you will have, when you display this model.

Thanks to John Greg and Mark,

for your kind words....

and also to all the recent "likes" for clicking on..

John,

thanks for your compliment

Greg,

I have`nt found the right place in my home to display the case with the KWdG yet, when it finaly will be completed. My hobby office is already displaying 5 glass-cased models like a little museum....

Mark,

thanks for your compliment,

I unfortunately could`nt find any photos of the actual ships horn, so the detail was modeled to what related detail I could find on the web....

Hi Denis,

thanks for your words.... much appreciated..

the surplus vent tubes will be trimmed for weight reasons (brass in that amount gives reasonable weight), each funnel will be lashed down with 10 guy wires

small update...

funnels are complete, painted and eyelets for the 10 guy wires /per funnel attached.

Two of the base structures still require the lighting windows on the beveled sides.

the resin based buff color for funnels and vents is of "Glasurit", semigloss, called desert sand (Wüstensand)

You going to paint the interior of the funnel stacks soot black?  Just curious, not critical.  Beautiful work.
