Work station clutter

Recommended Posts

I find when I'm about to take photos for my build log, which I try to do frequently, I tend to tidy my work space up a bit. I wouldn't want to give my fellow modelers the wrong impression and let them see just what a total slob I really am. ;)

Corey,

How on earth do you get into the freezers? Or are you storing the next whaling ship model there? :D

That modular system could be a savior to cluttered work tables,

for us in the US the Polish Zloty, the exchange rate is 1:4, in other word 1 zloty costs about 25 cents.

And I am in the design stage of my new shop.

I am going to get the privilege of designing a dedicated model room in the near future as we are in the process of building a new house. I will be looking closely at these modular units as they look promising but at the very least they give me some great ideas for the built in storage that I was already planning. Would be nice to see them become more easily available in the US as they look promising.

I also agree with earlier posts that Jim's setup looks better stocked than my local hobby stores also. If you are into scrapbooks or RC anything they are great but other model hobbies are getting scarce.

Guest Tim I.

I find it easier to clean up after every building session and put everything back away. The worst thing is the search for that tool you know you have but has disappeared (under something) into the black hole of the work bench.

Yeah same here. I find it keep pulling more and more stuff to the table as I progress and end up with a mess, which drives me nuts.  Plus still got a temporary work area so need to keep the mess to a minimum.

Cheers

If I had a system like that on my workbench I'd have less room to build then I have now.  And I would never remember what drawer I put things in and the search for what I need would be open drawer after drawer.  I'm sure it is good for some but I'll stick with my mess.

I just posted something on this very topic!  My budget is very limited so I can't get to something as luxurious as the Hobby Zone setup.  My post is here.
