i have the proxxon table saw (FET) and i need to buy good blade for cutting / making planks

my blade (the one that came with the table saw) can't cut planks even 1.5mm *5mm

so i want to buy a good blade for that job

which blade is the best for that job? (its not need to be only from proxxon but ni to be 80mm and 10mm hole to fit )

I use a metal cutting slitting saw blade which is 1/32 (.031) inch wide and has zero kerf. This gives me an almost polished finish to the planks and control on thickness of +/- .0015 inch. The blade has 108 teeth and was bought off the web for about £6 (probably originated from China). I don't have a Proxxon saw and I think the problem you are going to encounter is getting a slitting saw bade of 80mm X 10mm bore. I think this sizing is pretty much exclusive to Proxxon (unless someone else know different).

Example of my planks cut with the blade described above :-

Sorry my reply wasn't easy for you to understand.

This is the type of blade I use.  Sold by www.rdgtools.co.uk.

It is a bit too big for your table saw.

I checked Thurston and while they sell 2" and 3" (51mm and 76mm) diameter blades, the smallest hole size is 12.5mm.  I think that hole size might limit you.

I did get a number of hits using the following in Google:  https://www.google.com/webhp?sourceid=chrome-instant&ion=1&espv=2&ie=UTF-8#q=slitting%20saw%20blades%2010mm    Just click the link and it will open.

Another thing you can do if you have a lathe is to make and arbor ti fit the saw if theblades hole is to big.  I did this for my Preac.  Keeping this in mind take a look at Thurston for the proper blade. http://thurstonmfg.com/plain-metal-slitting-saws.html

i see in the proton web

Technical data:

230V. 7,000rpm. Mitre infinitely adjustable up to 45°. Table size 300 x 300mm. Cutting depth 1 - 22mm. Saw blades between 50 - 85mm can be used (with 10mm centre hole). Weight approx. 6kg.

so i can buy 50mm also and i need it for making planks so i no need more than 50 mm :)

someone can recommend a specific blade with Experience of making planks?

or someone can recommend o blade that can serve what i looking for from that list https://knupfer.info...ageblatter.html (Moxis thank you for posting that link )?

thank you

Michael.

Hello Michael,

Following please find the part numbers for all Knupfer blades which can be used directly with Proxxon saw (have 10 mm hole):

50 mm diameter, 0,3 mm thickness: w-krs-50-03-10

50 mm diameter, 0,4 mm thickness: w-krs-50-04-10

50 mm diameter, 0,5 mm thickness: w-krs-50-05-10

50 mm diameter, 1,0 mm thickness: w-krs-50-10-10

63 mm diameter, 0,5 mm thickness: w-krs-63-05-10

If you think, which blades to order, I suggest you take both the 50 mm diameter and 0,5 mm thickness, and 63 mm diameter and 0,5 mm thickness blades. The thinner blades (0,3 mm and 0,4 mm) are prone to bend a little when in use.

And don`t worry Michael, you can contact Mr Knupfer in English language as well, he understands and speaks very good English.

Depending on the thickness of the wood, the most important thing will be the tooth count.

While this is for the Byrnes saw, the tooth counts still apply for the various wood thicknesses:  http://www.hobbymillusa.com/byrnes-saw-operation.php

Hello Michael,

You can do this with any of those blades, you don`t necessarily need those thin (0,3 or 0,4) blades. You have to adjust the rip fence of your saw very carefully so that the distance between the saw blade and rip fence is exactly 3 mm.

Please see the enclosed picture where I cut 3 x 1 mm plank out of 5 x 1 mm strip with the 50 x 0,5 blade.
