HMS Sovereign of the Seas by Sjors - DeAgostini - 1:84

Recommended Posts

Thanks my friends.

Also for the likes !

@ Nenad,

I know I will be there some day......

And we don't have airco in the house.

We have it on our busses but when the front door is open and closing all the time, it's no use !

But for the passengers.......

@ Ulises,

Thank you  :D  :D

I use Red Ochre from admiralty paints.

I also use it for the carriages for the canons.

@ Mr Pucko,

Thank you very much  :D  :D

@ Edwin,

Also thank you and Anja is saying Hi to you  :D  :D

( Anja not Anga  :D  :D )

@ Mike,

Thanks !

It is double planking and after the planking , she is gonna be painted on the lower part of the hull.

In the middle you've got a red part between the whales ( or without a H )

Above that you have just the wood. ( Tung oil I think )

And on top blue.

The second planking planks ( nice word ) are that thin that I will do first other things before I will put that on.

The planks are 0.6 mm thick ....

Have a nice evening, morning or night.

Where ever you live in this world ....... :D

The deck has planked, gratings are done, skegge in place ( that funny thing at the front ) use tung oil....place the whole keel and stern post and the second planking on the port side are done !

Need some sanding and a little filling before I can paint her.

But first the other side.

So enjoy the pictures !

Nice looking work, Sjors.  I had to look three or four times at the gratings - that second gratings picture looks like there is a gap in one of them but no sign in the first shot.  Phew!

Thanks all !

@ Wayne and Hennie,

You are ( almost ) right.

It looks if the is a hole in it but now comes the trick.

One grating had broken in the middle.

So the upper part is gone and the lower part is still there.

It looks if I missing something there.

I have to see if I have enough gratings left to replace that.

@ OC,

I didn't know that you speak Dutch  :D  :D  :D

But thanks

@Piet the lion man  :D

Thank you !!

@ Mike,

@ Sam,

You are speaking in riddles !!! Again !!!

Stem area and bulkheads ?????

Are we watching at the same photo's ????

Or did you find that bottle  :D  :D  :D

It called a snebbe Sam.

And there are a frame goes over it with gratings.

When that's finished you will see what it does.

And stay AWAY from the whiskey !!!!!!

Then an update !

I finished painting on the hull.

Beware....I'm not a professional painter but I did do my best on it.

There must be some touching up but when I'm working on her, I know it will be a few times.

So that's for later.

Enjoy the pictures !

Well done Sjors, Black over white is always a tough line to paint in my opinion. You did far better than I would have.

Snebbe: a beak or a point, got it. Didnt find pronunciation.  sneb-eh?

Whats wrong with a wee nip-O-whiskey or five?

Snebbe?  Is that Rotjeknor dialect for snavel, Sjors?  Sorry, I have not kept up with the Dutch language evolution. Been gone since 1957

By the way, paint job looks nice, well done.

Also for the likes.

@ Sam,

I will join you with one whiskey  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Piet,

It is not sneb ( snavel is beak )( single ) but snebbe( no translation for that )

So you have to polish your Dutch  :D  :D  :D

@ Hennie,

When you take a good look you will see that the pictures below the one with the openings there is an little deck ( luizenplecht )  :D  :D  :D

Those opening are for the notches that are on that deck  :D  :D

That looks real good Sjors, it is making sense to me now.

@ Sam,

I will join you with one whiskey  :D  :D  :D  :D

@ Piet,

It is not sneb ( snavel is beak )( single ) but snebbe( no translation for that )

So you have to polish your Dutch  :D  :D  :D

Ok then, so, one Quintuple Double shot of whiskey each for us then.

So, Snebbe means nothing??? My head hurts, they say English is difficult. :P So, this word that describes the prow of your ship and means nothing, how would I pronounce it?
