Dan Weiss Posted March 7, 2017 Share #1 Posted March 7, 2017 I am currently building the USF Essex model kit from Model Shipways. A good friend of mine who has been model ship building for over 50 years has indicated that there normally is a second layer of planking done on most models, but it appears that this kit only has one. If MS didn't do one then that's correct for the kit.
