That is a beautiful theme.  You guys should check it out....also change the background of that theme.  You will notice three very interesting old paintings that look fantastic when chosen.  Just click the icon in the upper right corner after you select that theme.  Here are the images you can select

Golly, Chuck. Although quite beautiful, they are all so terribly British B) Could you find a nice French one, too? Something to break up the monopoly :D

I say, John,  old boy!  Absolutely spiffing pun,  eh what!  I distinctly felt the old stiff upper lip twitch slightly! Jolly good show,  old chap!:D

(Please don't take this as containing any sarcasm,  because absolutely none is intended.  It is a genuinely good pun)

Thank you Chuck and Admin for some lovely paintings to cycle through.

All the best,

Mark

Ok theres a whole new batch from various parts of the world.  Maybe I will switch them up every year or so to keep it fresh and so nobody feels left out.

Chuck, any chance the Profile and Notifications etc buttons could be put back where they were in the previous Theme? They are a bit "invisible" where they are now.

Unfortunately not.....these themes are programmed separately.  We are very limited with what we can do to alter the the placement of things on each theme.   We just have to find where stuff is now and get used to it.  Before long everyone will wonder what all the fuss was about.

Chuck, I changed the Font Colour on the "Theme" button in Snapshot. It was transparent before and virtually invisible against the light background. At first I thought it was gone altogether :D.

OK that works....changing the color is one thing we can do...the position however is not.

I think there should be a "No background" option though. No matter how beautiful the backgrounds are, for me a clean white page is more readable.

There is the IPS Default theme for a no-frills option.

There is a "No Background" option (of sorts) in Uniform. The 1st option in "Change Background" is a gradient of a few colours without any pictures.

In Snapshot there are three plain backgrounds to choose from as well as the "Plans" background.

Yes, I was thinking more to a white picture added to the list of backgrounds to simulate the "No background" option :)

I've switched to IPS default as suggested and it is a little better :)

I like the layout of the forum. Good work.

So possibly a stupid question, but did the location of the "Themes" selection change?  When I selected my current theme (the only other one available after the upgrade) it was selected from a 'themes' menu at the lower left corner of the page.

Today I have nothing at the bottom when I scroll down on the main Forums topic listing, and I don't see it in my profile settings either.

Browser issue or is it moved?  I use Chrome on Windows 10.

And.. I figured it out myself.  As you scroll down the background changes to a very dark blue, but the text for selecting the theme doesn't change, so it simply becomes invisible.

Which Theme are you talking about Gunther? I just tried them all and they all have a visible Theme "button" in the lower-left of the page.

Try refreshing your Theme - there were a few problems like this a while ago.

It's "Snapshot"  As you scroll down a long page (like this one), it fades from the tan background with the ship plans to a very dark blue.

Here you can see how the scroll down starts the fade and ends up dark blue.

And at the very bottom it leaves you with this, where the theme stuff is still there, you can just barely see it!

It's possible that this is an artifact due to my screen resolution (3440 x 1440).

If I just go to the settings page, the screen is short enough that I never get down to the fade out and it's easy to see.  Switched to the new "Uniform" theme with the ship backgrounds and it's not an issue at all, as the background doesn't scroll with the forum frame.

OK, I've made the background colour lighter and the text on the bottom of the page is now visible. This only happens if you pick the first background option in Snapshot. The last option with a similar ship plan has a light/mid grey background at the bottom of the page.
