Chebec Eagle of Algier 1753 (short EOA) by Mirabell61 - 1:48 - Nils Langemann - Finished

Recommended Posts

Hello Nils. Lots of activity going on onboard this beautifull ship. I keep smiling watching the picture where you sit at the table with the sewingmachine. Beautifull picture of how dedicated you are to modelmaking. I bought a sewingmachine too so I hope to post a picture later this year making sails.

I keep following your work.

Kind regards. Kees

Many thanks Kees,

there are many basic operations that could make life easier when sewing, provided one knows them.......my mode is only "learning by doing", and as far as the necessary stich types and arrangements are required and many things could be improved...., the "taylors" under the fellow builders may please forgive...the humble attempts..

Hi Nails. I would be ungrateful if I stayed still silent...
I didn't dare to make any comment until now, thinking that it would be like if I was judging you on every step of you built. And I don't have the right since I'm not even close to your level.
So, you have built a beautiful model that has been created  through  an inspiring modeling  school for all of us.
Congratulations post-617-0-05826400-1454912157.gif

Thx

Hi Thanasis,

thanks for your kind words, and your compliment, they are much appreciated....

you are very welcome in visiting the chebec build log, and your own models I like very much, are so well built and representing the beautiful Greek boats of the Aegaeis and its typical islands vessels. I consider those model vessels as top notch. I just took a dive into the boat builds of your gallery, as well as your personal web site, to bring them and your skills back to mind.

I shall be very pleased if the one or other details of my work could be of inspiring nature for fellow builders

small update :

instead of a binnacle cabinet with compass, I made a compass column for the helmsman and placed it just after the mizzen mast...

Others have already said everything about this magnificant project so that I just cannot say anything more but only agree those words.

I think I know exactly your feelings now, on the other hand very satisfied to have the project finished, but on the other hand a bit empty feeling trying to decide what to build next. At least I have that kind of feelings at present.
