I hope AK Interactive airbrushes ok as I have zero experience with AK paint.

Looking froward to seeing how this paint works for you. I have the same set. I will be using at least some of them on my Houston build.

I think I am leaning toward the rail gun build as well. We have had a number of Missouri builds as of late and besides I know almost nothing about the history of the rail gun and following the builds of others gives me an education while I watch.

I've bought some of it as well.

It would seem wise to try out the paint first on an old model you don't care about losing if it gets screwed up. I have read that others found reducing the paint to be tricky, perhaps because they did not use AK Interactive reducer? I don't know but it's worth proceeding with caution rather than ruining an expensive model. Retarder for acrylics should work with any brand as long as it's acrylic but test it first.

I started today by masking  off Mr. arado.

then i airbrushed model air “black green”  I then pulled off the masking tape and hoped for the best.

next I placed the canopy in postion and added tiny drops of glue all the wAy around it.

i then brushed light sea grey onto the struts.

What I do: I spray a layer of gloss lacquer, add the decals, when fixed,  spray a layer of clear lacquer, satin or mat, and after that shade or weather or whatever

Thanks Cog. Turns out my shading stuff is barely visible on the plane anyway.  It’s only good for grey ships.

I put some decals on.

and placed it on the ship. I didnt glue it yet.  My question is should I paint the 2 pontoons grey like the struts?

The floaters should be painted in the same way as the plane. Here is a picture from the LargeScale plane forum, where all experts are painting their Arado Ar196 in the same way.

If you are concerned about it Smore the very bottom of the pontoons would be the same color as the bottom of the plane and it shows in the pic look at the forward part of the back pontoon and the piece jutting out the bottom of the front pontoon at the rear.Camo. ;)

then i started painting the arado.  The first coat is down.  I used model air paints.  Definitely different than tamiya.

Hi Great build, are you going to use white glue to have clear canopies?

It’s been very fun guys!  I almost have everything I need to start the missouri so hopefully in a week I will be starting that.

To close out this build I  I wanted a better camera than my iPhone. unfortunately I had no luck so here are photos of my finished Bismarck with my camera phone, crappy lighting and terrible background.

Also I don’t know how to put the word “finished” in the title of this build log...😕

Well done she is looking Superb  what a credit she is to you,   I agree about the mobile phones using them for a camera  - If you use them for close up work they can be really good  - they do need a certain technique though  - basically  tolding them really still,   all my pics are with my old 20 yr old mobile phone.

Looks great, Semorebutts....     I changed the title for you.    If you need to do it on another project, open the very first post and scroll to the bottom of it.  Hit "edit" and you'll see that the title can be changed.
