Hello. I'm a long time surfer of this site, and now a new member. Thank you for the add. I've been building plastic models for many years, but have just now stepped into the world of wooden ship models. My only real experience with ships has been with Revell's Titanic and USS Constitution. Both were great challenges - especially the rigging, for me, on both.

After lurking around for a bit, I decided to take the jump and get started. For my entry level build I chose Constructo's USCG Eagle. It is on its way to me now and I am quietly picking up odds and ends to set up a more permanent model desk with some basic tools. I am in no way ready for plank-on-bulkhead builds and don't want to set myself up to fail, but I like a goodly amount of challenge, I like to learn and improvise, and I really like the lines of the Eagle. I think it will give me a very good opportunity to learn planning and execution for intricate details, rigging and sails before I step up to anything else.

Eventually my goal is OcCre's HMS Terror, and perhaps the HMS Bounty, as POB or POF builds....

Anyway, thanks again, and I look forward to learning more here on the forum.
