Friesland by greatgalleons - Mamoli - Scale 1:75

I only Recieved a set of plans which is standard in every Mamoli kit. Maybe about six or seven large sheets and couple of very large complete ship sheets marked A and B. if you look on each sheet there are instructions in several languages including English. Bear in mind that the English instructions are a translation from Itailian.

My biggest problem with this kit was that it was missing most of the wood for the hull strakes , I had to use what I had leftover from other completed kit build,. Good luck with this build, it was challenging and I learned a lot from it.

Hello,  I'm a Texan in a bit of a fix and maybe I thought you could help me out ...... I recently bought a Constructo  " Elidir "   on Ebay which was missing frames for the hull ....... and no assembly manual ; no problem I thought .....as the Old term goes  " There I go a thinkin "   contacted Constructo ....now part of Diset  they said had none for the Elidir ......but by all looks, they had the launch now named the " Louise "  they sent a PDF  with assembly and  parts list.  So be simple .....yeah.......wrong.   The new kit has changed all the numbering on the prints.  Thus the parts list has changed.   I hoping you could facilitate my efforts ...... by sending and attachment of  The Elidir  manual and parts list.   Thank you for your time and consideration.  I live in San Antonio, Tx.    And Proud to Have Served.

I'm curious about the historical issues with this ship. According to my sources, there was an 80-gun Dutch ship named Vestfriesland. I'm wondering if the kit has any resemblance to that ship? The model does have a decidedly Dutch appearance, and have wondered whether or not there is an actual ship that could be modeled from the kit.

I have not posted here since I completed my Ragusian Carrack build but have been steady at it building many other ships.  I started and finished the artesian Latina swift, Le Renard, Le Hussard, the Harvey, all sold so I can purchase some kits for my personal collection.

I never got got to complete the Friesland ship because I sold it just as soon as I was finished with the hull, I still regret selling it so I have currently started another Friesland build and have completed all the wood work including

the mast and yards.  It is put away until winter time to completely rig and finish.

I used some different wood tones out of necessity due to the poor condition of the planking wood in the kit, I will also change some of the colors used on the previous build when it comes time to paint the gingerbread castings.  I'll upload some better pics in a day or so.

I used some green ink to brighten up the planking which was very dull looking.

I forgot what I had done with this model and actually had to use my build log.  I noticed a few issues I overlooked with the first build and was able to make adjustments.
