Thank you very much, dear friends for your support, very significant to me in this days ... many bad memories returned, and I am now in ... let`s say ... pretty shaked and jumbled situation in my head ... and in my office. I lose my Admiral and her parents in less than a three years. I lose my mother, Admiral and her mother, and a dog in last 9 months ... and just I said to my father (90 years old) that he has to wait with his final trip min next 6 months ... In this situation, I just have to make jokes, even a black one, to save my brain clear and healthy

Important is that kids are strong and they are well, Princess just have got next extension of the employment contract maybe to next two years, Hothead passed his three winter exams, and continued preparing next exam working on project of primary school which looks like a flower (?!?!?) and preparing to move his bike to Novi Sad town where his faculty of Architecture is ... everything gets in line  ... except me ... and I hope only I can see this. So, I must urgently consolidate myself, and strongly decided that consolidation period must start yesterday, as in office ( I reduced work to scheduled Court sessions and only urgent things last two weeks) and in my social life, emotional statement etc etc.

As usual, for this kind of problems, main is "work therapy". First part - remains and chaos in office and my overloaded office work table, second - home yard (spring  has just begin, and there is a lot of work to clean from winter remains, to cut grass, cut two old and ill trees, fix fence before get a new Husky puppy at home, etc etc etc), close openings on attic I left during carpenter ants session before year and half, service my old car, service my eyes ( left eye, which was better all my life suddenly weakened a bit) service my teeth dentures, get my first full medical health check ( I am 57 years old and think it is a last time to do it, particular because I lived in continuous stress last year), keep my swimming  practice, do something with cigarette overdose, reconstruct office to make room for 35-37 meter of books ... so much to count and write ...

And of course, to keep on with my build

So, show must go on, and Nenad is back in the saddle, riding life to it`s meaning

Thank you to you all, again

Nenad

Ah Nenad, they say life is a box of chocolates, and when we get our age, we look into a box full with many empty wrappers with just memories of enjoying the sweet chocolate.  You are still fortunate, beautiful kids, a job, and your love of working with your hands and mind.  I know how you feel, I lost parents, and although I have my wife, I have lost my child.  Worse of it, it does seem to all come at once.  But we get over it, the doldrums of life will again open up to some warm prevailing winds and we can sit down and enjoy building a sailing ship to take us to our thoughts and dreams and away from reality for awhile.  Scott

Good to see you back Nenad and happy to hear of the great support of your children.  Yes, stress is not good for the heath of our bodies and mind, exercise is one way to relieve most of it and then other activities to keep the mind focused on job and hobby.

Keep well my friend and keep strong.

That's the spirit Nenad.

Life goes on, and all we can do is make the best of what precious little time we all have here on earth. In a blink of the eye, it's all over.

It seems I am still drowned and stuck in office jobs and job remains from last couple weeks ... but it also seems everything returns to line slowly ... Hothead go back to his study, Princess works double shifts, I am jumping cross downtown at afternoon, and had endurance test for extension of my back  how long it can be peaceful in office chair the rest of day, and when evening comes, usually it is to late to go to workshop. But I hope to arrange it all in next few days ... maybe even tonight ... next three days I am not planing to go to downtown, only to be in office mistreating my PC and my mind ... but ... probably "uncle" Myrphy wit his laws will appear as always ... when you expect peaceful day, something jumped in, and turn you into the chaos, and opposite - when you did not like to rise and shine having in mind chaos that is waiting for you, all clears in couple of hours ... we`ll see

Hi Gerhard

As I ( maybe)  wrote earlier, there is a great life truth: There are not boys and girls, man and woman. There are only SMALL AND GROWN WOMAN and LITTLE AND BIG BOYS ... which means on some way ... we ( BIG BOYS) like to play all our lives. It is not important is it some kind of Game of Thrones, different kind of company, power, job or money "games", our endless hobby list, avoiding home-works, football, baseball or similar most important events, pub meetings etc etc Playing is common factor of almost all our activity

So, order of "need to"  "may need to" and "like to" is ... ok, just debatable ...

Why are we from time to time on MSW during office time ?

Just kidding ... but there is some truth in this, yes?

Hi my friend!

The most difficult things to do at the steering box will be the hinges, if you want to keep them moveable. You can see how i made such small things here http://modelshipworld.com/index.php/topic/12842-sms-danzig-1851-by-gerhardvienna-radio-150-scale/?p=393467 .

Hi Nenad

I would use thin plywood for that table, and some harder wood, maybe oak,  for the legs. As it seems, you used balsa wood, this is maybe a bit too weak for such things, just my experience. At this small size harder wood is a lot better to grind into shape. Even the box for the steering rod will be easier to build from that.

It is lime tree 2x2 mm thined, Gerhard, not balsa. Balsa is soft, and weak, and it is imposible to work with balsa with 2x2 strips thined to less than 1mm, making 18x8x5 mm table with lehs, supporting mouldings etc. I have tried with oak strips 1x1 mm, but on that dimensions, oak is just to much brittleness. Evening will be smarter than a noon ...

Holly tooth-picks and bamboo again, and new constructuion approach

post-4738-0-26025300-1458504113_thumb.jpg

Main problem was how to fix table legs to be strong. I drilled holes for toothpicks all throught, cut and glue toothpick's pieces with CA, add extra wood inside do get strong structure, and start sanding with self made micro pils to get squared profile of legs

Also with micro pils thined width of understructure

post-4738-0-89137100-1458504149_thumb.jpg

Slowly and easy, and desired form appears after a while

post-4738-0-83801800-1458504370_thumb.jpg

At the end, put veneer strips arround, fill gasps with putty, thinned veneet and fine sanded all

At the very end, sand (no cut!) leg's lenght to 5,5mm front and 4,5mm aft , and thined table surface to 0,5mm

And this is it. Better, I suppose

I see you did battle with the Evil Green Knighst. And won!!!! Hard work, indeed, Nenad. Rest, refresh... feel good in the victory.

I was so tired, Mark, that I missed my swimming excersize today. As you already know, this beast has roots to another side of planet, and it is almost imposible to kill it forever. God "bless" friend who gives it as present to my Admiral. When grows, totaly out of control. Wild thing
