Hey, if you need drawings of the running rigging, I have John McKay's large scale Bounty drawings I can lend you. I'm only home for another week so just let me know.

Cheers,

Hi Don

You have chosen to build a very famous ship to build, one of my favourites . You have shown great skills in your build of the HMS Bounty, I for one will be watching your build and enjoying your great progress., Enjoy.

I am now at the stage that I am going to call complete :dancetl6:- I ordered the glass for the display case and it should be ready in the next week or so.post-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpgpost-489-0-47037900-1383141537_thumb.jpg

Thanks Anja - I ordered a display case and just received it last week, so now I have to get a base done and finally get my build under glass !!!

I now have my display case finished - I had a local plastic shop make it for me and it only cost me $ 140.00. What a bargain - I will be using them again - I made the base with a nice piece of pine and used hemlock for the mouldings - i think it looks pretty good.post-489-0-08554500-1384789306_thumb.jpg

Hi Don

What a great display case you have there. Is it possible that you would know what type of glue that they used. I have been thinking of a couple of display cases for my completed Cutty Sark and my on going build the HMS Victory, your help would be very much appreciated, Love the Bounty , the last time I saw her she was sailing out of Halifax, Nova Scotia on there cross the Atlantic race. She was very majestic, and a joy to watch. I kind of wished that I could have been on her, but that was a couple of years ago. You have did her a great justice in your build, I congratulate you for your great effort.    Enjoy.

Hi Lawrence

Thank you very much for the kind words about my build - my Bounty is far from museum quality but it being my first ship model I am very satisfied. I don't know what type of cement that they used to glue the plexyglass, but the front, top and back are all one piece and are bent to shape and the ends are glued on. I will try to find out what cement they used to glue the case. I live in a condo and the executive have asked me if I would put my Bounty on display in the lobby of our building - it will be going on display this weekend !!!

Hi Don

I thank you very much for your quick reply, that plastic shop sure has a lot of nice tools to be able to do this kind of a job for you, very nice. You sure have done a wonderful job on your first bild, I know for sure your second will be even better. Have you given it much thought what your next build will be?  You must be very proud to be ask to display your ship in the condo lobby.   Enjoy.

Hi Lawrence

I have already started on my next build - I inherited a Billings Bluenose ( check my build log )that was partly done and I am working on the Gorch Foch by OcCre . I'm really enjoying the OcCre kit - it has great parts and very nice intructions.
