ROYAL CAROLINE 1749 by Doris - 1:40 - CARD

Recommended Posts

You continue to surprise and amaze us! Not only do the details look terrific, but the the overall effect has visual unity; a very tricky balance to achieve.

Thank you, dear friends, I am pleased and appreciate your comments and congratulations a lot.
I am also glad and honoured, you like my work on Royal Caroline. I love sailing ships and that´s the reason why i like making their models.
When I have more free time I would like to create here at MSW another build log with my Royal William scratch build, that´s also a card model. Hope, you will enjoy it as well.

Oh, I have just remembered, there is a birthday party on Royal William, so who wants to join? Now there are only a few officers, but at night the fun begins.....

Doris,

Can I also come to the party?

Only thing is that I'm a Commodore….

And then I want to sit on the head of the table.

I pay the bill then…. :D

When you started you Royal William, I want to reserve a seat at the front row !

And you love sailing ships…..maybe the Flying Dutchman?

O no, that's a wreck….

But even from a wreck you make it looks as a swan!

Hello Doris,

That looks inviting. I would like to join in as well.

And as the are a few officers present, I will wear my dress uniform. Just to blend it.

Looking forward to your buildlog of the Royal William.

Take care and have fun at the party animaatjes-feest-20395.gif

Hello dear friends,

thank you a lot for your comments and congratulations, i am very honoured and grateful for your kind words.

Sjors + Anja: You are always welcome on the board.

Sjors: My husband often tells me, that he also feels like a Commodore, because i dedicated him some of my finished sailing ship and he is very proud. For me he is a great partner for more than 13 years and i appreciate his patience with me and my hobbies.

Congratulations also on your birthday.

Thank you Mike, for me it is easier to create models from these materials, but also try to use wood and I have started to like it.

Dear Doris,

thanks a lot for this thread - Your Royal Caroline is so beautyful, the colours are realistic and the detailing is magnificent!

I have the AotS book also in my shelf... but I'm unable to crave the figureial moulding - and so the böök got "rusty"...  And due to this I was overwhelmed reading your thread - and raptourus looking to the pix.

Thank you very much,

Yours Christian

(I'm the one building black battleships - too boring for you  ;)  )

How lucky onshore whilom you have been

you will remake whensoever the ship is sinking.

I just find this so hard to comprehend - that this is cardboard!!!!

You work is truly amazing and the sculpting of the many, many decorations on this ship - all so beautiful.

I am particularly taken with your base/stand/support and the sculpting and name plate - just wonderful.

I just keep coming back to look at your builds..time and time again -  here and when this site was down - found them on another site... and the photography is so clear - make its so easy to appreciate all the details.

Current builds:

MS Syren

HM Suppy

Dos Amigos

Completed:

Schooner for Port Jackson

MS 18th Century Longboat

Bounty Launch
