The rest of the wing transom was installed along with what I'm going to call frames # 29. I just free cut these but the footing match perfect at 27 degrees as opposed to the 28 degree footing frames # 28 have. Let me know if anyone sees any problems.

I installed the wing transom using a pair of home made 90 degree jigs I made is plexi glass.

So it's been over a year since I have posted anything to my triton build. It looks as though all of the pic's are gone

You deserve every compliment you get. There is only a few posted Rattlesnake builds and maybe two builds that following Hunts practicum. Sure someone else may have posted it before you somewhere, but we saw you do it here. Keep up the great work

I'm right where you are right now trying to figure out how to get the gammoning, heads and grating to fit with the two dolphin striker like things coming form under the bowsprit. gonna be a tight fit.

Just a word of caution on the proxxon mill, you will have a hard time getting tooling and other items to fit. Go with the sherline you won't regret it

I fell into the same trap. I was good to learn on and it looks good, but not at all an accurate representation. At least now I know what appeals to me. I see you have a model shipways kit on the shelf. I have three MS kits on my shelf, and all of them are buy far and away better than anything AL produces. I view AL kits like what you would buy in a souvenir shop.

Almost done with the headrails. Working on the grating and seats of ease. It's going to be a tight fit. My headrails are 2/32 or 1.5 mm pear wood bent and painted.

So it's been ten or so months since I made any progress. I moved and have my dream basement workshop

My shop is still under construction but have found the time to work on the snake a bit. I have worked on the head framing and the gallery windows. Also let me apologize for any missed responses or emails with the move I neglected to respond to quite a few people

Looks great. I too struggled with the gun ports. I look at mine and see some irregularities. Its a tough hull to get right.

You might want to put in a complete filler block at the bow to give you planks something to hold onto as the approach the bow. You might even want to put a filler block in between bulkhead A and B. As your planks approach the keel their is little material for them to attach to without a filler block. Not a must, but may make planking the hull a little easier and sturdy.

If you go too big or too tall you can sand/trim them later, but too small or too short gets a little tougher. I made mine a little beefier to give me someone sturdy to attach planks at the bow. Keep up the great work!

Scott I think you did a great job, and are knocking our socks off. Rigging is not easy and only gets harder as you go up the mast. Keep it coming Sir I enjoy and learn from you every step of the way.

PS, I read what JSG put down, and I have noticed a number of differences between MSW, Mamoli and Hunts build. I always default to the MSW plans they seem to be more..... realistic/accurate (I hope). After all Mamoli sells fictional ship kits who's to say they don't fudge with ship plans. As for Hunts practicum, someone maybe you or JSG said he seemed to be rushing towards the end of his snake build, I couldn't agree more. The Constitution build he did is top notch but the sake...ehhh. BWT I have all of his practicums if you ever need any of his stuff.

Here is my use of more of the two part epoxy putty to make decorative pieces. The headrails show one side finished and one ready to be painted. The mid rail decorative piece shows the green stuff before it has been sanded but just after shaping and cured.

Scott, It was not too bad. I soaked the wood (Swiss pear) and then bent it using a planking iron. What made it a little easier was making them out of two pieces.

Great looking boat! JSG did a great job with thAt log. I'll be using his build when my time comes on the boat.

I seem to be jumping all over with my build. Here is some work on the head rails. I decided to make them out of two pieces. I lifted the pattern from the plans and cut to shape. Once I installed them I sanded the joints flush (or as flush as I could get them). I've been using the epoxy putty to fill cracks and help fix defects.

Get a good leather strope with gold polishing compound. This extends the life of all my blades. I also do what JPett does with the tape.

who is the manufacturer of those chisels? If they are homemade what was your process for making the blade. Its really some beautiful craftsmanship going on with your set.

Great work I love your improvised stairs. Some kits come with some really poor fittings. I think we make them so much better when we craft our own items. Keep up the great work
