  1. Dan, Just read through your article. I am amazed at your work. Every day I find another piece of craftsmanship that is truly great to see. You must coming up with new ways to create these things. Wonderful work. Julian
  2. Ben, Very good start. I'll be following you progress with keen interest. Good sailing. Julian
  3. Hi Frank, I remember going to see the remains of the Wasa and trying to think just how great it must have been when she was launched, and just before the end of her fateful maiden voyage. You've created a beautiful image of what she must have been like. Well done. Julian
  4. Keith, I've just been looking at your fantastic Viking Drakkar. I'm new to the whole business of model shipwright work, and am looking at starting with a Drakkar. Seeing your efforts has only inspired me to follow in your footsteps. Any hints or tips on particularly difficult, rewarding and surprising issues during your build? Regards, Julian
  5. Druxey, Thanks for the heads up on Admiralty Models running workshops on sailmaking later this Autumn. I'll keep an eye out for them. Regards, Julian
  6. Hi J Pett, I'm very pleased to see you modelling efforts, as I'm new to the group and have just received a Coral, 1/98 scale HMS Victory kit from my father-in-law. He managed to get the bulkheads in place before finding it too much for him. So production stopped about twenty odd years ago. Now it's my turn to take up the wood working tools and complete the task. It's my first time at this sort of thing, so I'm taking site member's advice and seeking something a little less demanding to start with. The good news is that since you are a ways down the road on your build I'll be following your techniques and tips with great interest when I do start the Victory. Keep up the good work and the invaluable posts. Julian
