  1. Hi have just finished ist planking on HM Sherbourne. can someone tell me whats the best type and easiest to use filler to use at this stage? cheers Paul
  2. Jonny I received the all clear a few weeks ago re some health issues I was having and thought that I would get back into my convulsion build but instead it seems that i had lost all motivation and interest in it. The kit has sat exactly as i had left it months ago, and until a few hours ago I thought it likely that it would sit unfinished for evermore. HOWEVER for some reason or another i decided to catch up on your Convulsion build on MSW and I am so impressed with your Convulsion build that I feel reinvigerated and now cant wait to get back at it. Thanks for the inspiration and congratulations for a great looking build. cheers mate Paul
  3. Re your last Jonny Santa has obliged with caldercraft ballyhoo and also cutter shelbourne so my shipyard has a full order book for some to come. Warmest regards Paul
  4. Hi Jonny I am very impressed with your Convulsion build to date. Well done. I am champing at the bit so to speak to get started again on my own Convulsion but It seems that life has other ideas at the moment. I have experienced some health problems of late and what with one thing or another I have been prevented from getting back to it. But better days ahead. Keep up the good work, it's a great looking kit and I look forward to seeing your finished model. regards Paul
  5. jonnyI look forward to catching up with your build log later. I'm off to get a digital camera to enable me to start a log of my own. Cheers Paul
  6. Sorry Jonny I has occurred to me that you are probably going to plank the deck first before attaching the deck. Silly me. Paul
  7. Jonny Is there any particular reason for doing 1st planking without the deck in place? regards Paul
  8. Jonny When you were doing your first rows of planking did you taper any of the planks at the bow or stern? regards Paul
  9. Hi Jonny I finally regirded my loins so the speak and have started my convulsion again. Very interested to discover that you have cut rabbet and bearding lines, I wondered about that myself as it makes no mention of these in the kit plans, I handnt bothered myself on my first attempt, perhaps I should do so now .Your photos look great ( not too dark at all). Similar to your own kit when I assembled the deck onto the bulkheads there are gaps between the bottom of the deck and the tops of some of the bulkheads, although the deck seems to be sitting level and correct. I look forward to checking in to your build log very muck regards Paul
  10. Hi Jonny I also recently started my first ever build on HM Mortar vessel Convulsion, and everything was going fine until I came to 1st planking, not that there would be anything harder on this kit than any other im sure but I found it as a complete novice a bit daunting. However I managed to get a few planks each side done quite well I thought when I succeeded in knocking it off my bench and then managed to stand on it! breaking the deck, several bulkheads and the walnut bow What a plonker! I contacted Jokita who supplied me with some replacement parts and am now readying myself to begin again. I look forward to following your build. Can I have lots of photos please. Best of luck Paul
