  1. Thanks guys. At least you helped me visualize where I am going. Being a visual learner, pictures are just what I needed. I also checked out the Kaiser Wilhelm log (Nils is way out of my class!) and vertical planking is the answer. I used to live in the Hampton Roads VA. area and the Hampton Roads Ship Model Society was a valuable resource. I now live in Charleston SC and unfortunately can’t find any local modeling groups (RC only). So I guess I will be hanging out here. Thanks again for pointing me in the right direction. Planking is a weak area for me (one of many according to my wife) so I need all the help I can get. Greg
  2. I am working on a Mamoli kit, the C.S.S. Alabama. The few planking diagrams provided are not very detailed. Specifically, I can’t figure out how the stern should be planked. I have never run into a stern like this (all my ships have been sail only). I have read “Ship Modeling Simplified” (Mastini) and “Planking the Built-up Ship Model” (Model Shipways) plus looked at the tutorials here but I am still at a loss. Any help/suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks. Greg
