  1. Has anybody ever built an OCCRE model ship kit?  If so, how do you rate?  Thanks!!

      Depends what you are looking for.  My first model was Occre’s HMS Beagle and it was a great first kit for me.    The planking is simplified, so if planking the way a real ship was planked is important to you it might not be right for you.  For me, I would have failed at planking the real way on my first ship, so it was a good fit.  I can’t speak to there more advanced kits, but you are a beginner, there are a lot of build logs for the Beagle and Polaris that you can check out on the site.  

  2. I'm scratch building Emma C. Berry from Lankford's plans for Model Shipways. I'm up to the point of building the windlass and gotten a treasure trove of good info from the Chicago area clubs but any further info, especially pictures, would be gratefully received. Thanks!
