  1. Kurt...I just wanted to let you know how helpful your documentation has been for me as I have struggled with my BJ Conny build. Nic and Charlie Cook have been a great resource too. I would love to see you provide images as you begin the rigging of your beautiful model (as they say a picture is worth a thousand words). Also can you tell me as I begin work on the bowhead where ( how deep) are the gratings placed as seen in. photo 25 of the manual. My email is mail@cliffmitchell.com
  2. Dave...the book I mentioned can be found at: www.blurb.com go to the Bookstore search for USS Constitution Dave F. McCann has photographically documented his build
  3. I have been looking at a website called blurb and I came across a book about the scratch building in 1/60 scale of the USS Constitution and was wondering if that is your book that sells for $80.00. I am currently struggling through Bluejacket's model of this ship. Thanks

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
