  1. Looks great! The rigging close-up photos are really helpful for amateurs' like me. RE: bulwark patterns I had a lot of difficulty bending them without soaking as they kept coming out of the slot or cracking the bow post/part no 37 (apologies if the terminology is wrong).
  2. I have found the manual size used for Saucy Jack quite a good size for those with limited bench space. I guess for the Indy it will be quite a number of pages though and the binding may restrict you. As a beginner I find the axonometric type views quiet useful in setting out parts relative to each other particularly when they are of the same material.
  3. When dry fitting the keel parts I noticed my sub deck was out by just under 1mm (see left side of opening in subdeck at bow. I think I will probably have to work around this to avoid taking up the deck. The deck to the right of the opening for the keel has already been sanded to fit the keel.
  4. Quick update: All glued in. As noted in the instructions it is important to make sure all parts are pushed in completely. The fit is so good I didn’t notice they were slightly out and a couple had to be adjusted last minute. Really enjoying the build, when I get a chance to work on it.
  5. First day on the kit. Spiral bound instructions are a great idea. All parts dry fitted so far with bevelled bulkheads. Going together well. The engraving is a big help.
