  1. Tangled up in Blue - Jerry Garcia Band or Bob Dylan
  2. Shiny Happy People - REM
  3. Little Sister - Ry Cooder
  4. Let’s Dance Chris Rea BetaQdave, I Like nearly all the rock groups you mention but could never get into classical music except for Holst’s The Planets or Sinatra or Elvis for that matter. Probably for a Brit my love of so much American music is unusual. The first was the Doobies, which led into Steely Dan and then the Feat and so on and then more recently country such as Merle, Johnnie Cash etc and even Foster the People. Its odd how musical tastes develop as none of my family were musical at all.
  5. Wind Up - Jethro Tull ( Aqualung Album) BetaQdave you have a very similar musical taste to me
  6. Upper ratlines and yards attached. Occre rigging instruction need much to be desired IMHO so using previously completed Half Moon as guide.
  7. Eyes of silver - Doobie Bros
  8. Lower yards attached. Finding working on rigging at 1/ 90 scale difficult to say the least
  9. Dark side of the Moon for me when I’am working well, Thick as A Brick when I’am all fingers and thumbs.
  10. Put the dowels into the slats of my rustic chair cover the screw holes just before the Danish Oiling ready for the Otford Village Show where we sell our stuff ( The Greenhill Woodworkers). We’re just a bunch of hobbyists having a fun time. This one’s been a bit of a struggle the PHN from my shingles last year made it a bit painful cutting the tenons.
  11. Another better known Irish Drinking song - Whiskey in the Jar Thin Lizzy
  12. Better view. When I originally added the rubbing strakes using the walnut supplied I coated them with dark oak Danish oil which conveniently has faded over time to match the hull
  13. Hey Joe100, How do you attach all the railings to the decks? This is fantastic build, card when done well gives the best results of any materials IMHO. Way beyond my capabilities mind. do you have to keep the finished models in a controlled environment like a giant humidor?

About the NRG

If you enjoy building ship models that are historically accurate as well as beautiful, then The Nautical Research Guild (NRG) is just right for you.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build. The Journal is available in both print and digital editions. Go to the NRG web site (www.thenrg.org) to download a complimentary digital copy of the Journal. The NRG also publishes plan sets, books and compilations of back issues of the Journal and the former Ships in Scale and Model Ship Builder magazines.
