  1. I have about 70 ship modeling books that I’d like to sell (see attached list -- Blandford & Pandora just sold). All are in very good condition and I’ll sell them individually, in groups, or as the whole lot. Might any of the Modelshipworld members be interested? Or, if not, do you know of any other groups or persons who might? I have researched each title’s individual price on eBay or Amazon within the last three weeks, so my asking price is based on that. I selected the lowest price for each specific edition, usually, but not always, without including the shipping costs. However, the final sale price is negotiable. I ask that any buyers cover the cost of shipping.

    What do you think?

Chuck, I'm sorry, I sent the wrong list, although, those are also for sale. Here is the ship model building list.

They are both very interesting lists of Books.  The issue is that you need a certain number of posts on MSW to list items for sale.   This is done on purpose to make sure that folks know the members who are selling the stuff.   I doubt our members will be very interested no knowing who you are.  They are very leery of taking a chance because in the past they have been scammed etc.

You have been a member for a long time.  I do wish that you had been more active over the years as this wouldnt have been an issue.  I would suggest that you start to take an interest and post on various logs etc before you attempt to sell them here.

  2. I agree. his book is invaluable for me. Anytime I find a term I can't understand I go to "The Visual Encyclopedia..." and invariably it's there. I supplement it with Anatomy of Nelson's Ships by Longridge. I use Antscherl's "The Fully Framed Model, Rigging a Sixth Rate Sloop of 1767-1780" and Petersson's "Rigging Period Ship Models" when rigging. Couldn't do without them. Dirk De Bakker and Greg Booker's "Simple Hull Planking Techniques for Beginners," which was published in 2006 on Model ship World forum was a god-send for me when planking. I must add that while I've been building tall ship models for about 15 years, I've only complete three kits: Amati's Roger B. Taney and Caldercraft's Bounty and Diana. So, I'm still a novice. But, I couldn't have built these models, especially, the last two without those books.
  3. Ray, I've been working on Diana since 2002 or so, might say I'm a bit slow. As noted by so many others, you're doing a fantastic job. I wish you had started a few years earlier because there are a number of solutions you've invented that I could have used. It's been so long since I bought the kit that I have a question for you. How many plan sheets does your kit have? Mine has six and I'm wondering if there shouldn't be more. By the way, when you get there, there are errors on the mast and yard sheet (sheet 3). For example, the drawn lengths of the masts and spars don't match the actual dimensions in millimeters printed on the sheet. Look forward to hearing from you. John
