    For sure Omega. I'm really looking forward to building the interior. I just purchased some yellow cedar which I hope will work well for the insides. I'm thinking walnut for the planking, and cherry for the stern and keel. I've never built a ship before, but I think this one has just the right amount of details inside and out.     Hello, small update. Completed the build board. If you notice I've used Mc Ardle's plan which is scaled at 1:48. So instead of removing it I've glued Cor Emke's 1:50 keel plan unto the top of the build board. My theory is I can use McArdle's plan for trueness and alignment, but still have the length properly done for 1:50.

    Angafather is doing an amazing job on the statenjacht. I'm thankful he's doing a build job of this as I haven't been able to find many people doing builds of this ship.

The Guild is a non-profit educational organization whose mission is to “Advance Ship Modeling Through Research”. We provide support to our members in their efforts to raise the quality of their model ships.

The Nautical Research Guild has published our world-renowned quarterly magazine, The Nautical Research Journal, since 1955. The pages of the Journal are full of articles by accomplished ship modelers who show you how they create those exquisite details on their models, and by maritime historians who show you the correct details to build.
