  1. Hi. Please can anyone help me with this problem? It seems the Rabbet Strips need trimming as page 4 informs me of the Instruction Manual. The bulkheads do not line up with the dots and are about 1/16" out. If I bevel the Rabbet Strips inwards towards the Bulkhead former is that correct? And will it line up the bulkheads?
  2. I found the model Syren difficult as you have to cut 48 pieces of basswood in order to make the gun ports. As for the sweep ports one looks as it is directly on a bulkhead. In the plans it looks as if the all the bulkheads have been sanded down as I cannot see any sign of them in the instruction book now that the area has been painted red. I made a mess in that the first temporary plank fixed on was somehow below the deck I just did not see it in the wrong place so all the work I did was wrong so I hope to get a replacement parts and start again. I have built 2 ships before Syren and they were 3 ply wood keels too plus bulkwarks.
  3. I am making the Brig Syren and the sixth sweep port from the stern lines up with a bulkhead. You can see this on page 10 of the manual. If the black defines the sweep port. Also are the bulkheads sanded down to zero as I cannot see bulkheads on the inside?
